Svistov Winery – a successor of the Roman winemaking tradition
Our winery is one of the most advanced winemaking enterprises in Bulgaria, it has been in the business for over seventy years and is experienced in the production of exquisite wines and liquors, winners of awards at various national and international competitions.
Situated at the southern bank of the Danube River, Svistov Winery is in the heart of one of the wine regions in Bulgaria which still keeps the wine-making traditions dating back to 45 BC when the Romans from Legio VIII Augusta have founded the ancient town of Nove, today’s town of Svistov.
Today, the winery is an advanced enterprise which is technologically fully equipped for processing, stabilizing, bottling and labeling of wines,
and one of the first rosé producing wineries in the country.
For the production of exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot red wines, and Chardonnay, Muscat, Traminer and Sauvignon Blanc white wines we use grapes from our own vineyards covering an area of more than 3 000 decares and about 1 000 decares of grape vines that will start producing fruit in 2020.
The precision to every detail and end-product oriented techniques are the main segments that make the wines and liquors of Svistov Winery well recognized on both local and international markets.
Our well-selected varieties, team of experts and cutting edge technological facilities contribute to our excellent results, evidenced also by the number of recognitions and awards obtained at various national and international contests.
